Iarnrod Éireann (IÉ) is the sole train provider in Ireland, connecting the small towns with the big cities.

Iarnrod Éireann has invested a lot in its trains and network since 2006 and plans to keep going until its complete transformation in 2015. The Government has agreed a total investment of €34 billion over the ten years.

The company is dedicated to the environment and has a number of projects in the pipeline to sustainably increase railway coverage. The trains and services in Ireland are always improving and with all the beautiful Irish countryside taking a train journey through Ireland is always a pleasure.

You can use your Eurail pass on all trains, as long as you make your reservation beforehand.
