Belgium : NMBS/SNCB

NMBS/SNCB operate an extensive train network in Belgium, connecting Belgium with France, Luxemburg, the Netherlands and Germany via fast InterCity (IC) trains.

At Brussels Midi Station, the new Departure Today zone makes same-day international travel even simpler with flatscreen information monitors and fast ticket collection.

You can travel easily on Belgium’s NMBS/SNCB network. Bruges-Ghent takes 30 minutes, and Ghent-Antwerp takes 50 minutes. High-speed Thalys trains connect Brussels to Paris in 1 hour 22 minutes and Eurostar to London in 1 hour 51 minutes.

NMBS/SNCB run frequent offers on Belgium’s trains. On Eurostar, travel to or from any Belgian station, (no reservation required) within 24 hours of the Eurostar journey. For a small charge, you can do the same on Thalys trains. For over-26s, the Rail Pass is excellent value for 10 single journeys between two Belgian stations of your choice.

Seat reservations are mandatory for international journeys – you don’t need to for domestic trains in Belgium with NMBS - SNCB. You can buy drinks and snacks in the on-board restaurant car or from the mobile mini-bar.
