Slovenia : SŽ
The Slovenian Railways’ trains get more popular every year: nearly 17 million used the 1201km network.
The Slovenian Railway Company (or Slovenske železnice - SŽ) is a wholly state-owned enterprise with six subsidiaries either owned outright by Slovenian Railways, or in which they retain a majority stake.
Slovenia’s train schedule connects the country inland and internationally with daytime and sleeper trains. It also operates the scenic Heritage trains along the Bohinj line, as well as many freight services in combination with other modes of transport.
SŽ are the proud operators of Green trains – quality motor trains with comfortable, air-conditioned cars with shorter travel times and fewer stops.
SŽ are well known for being secure, friendly and comfortable. They’re continually adapting their services for customers, with the target of becoming the backbone of public passenger traffic in the network’s areas.
