SWISS TRAVEL SYSTEM
Swiss Federal Railways (SBB in German, CFF in French and FFS in Italian) is Switzerland’s biggest travel and transport company.
It’s also Europe’s most punctual railway and reaches 824 stations and covers 3,011km of Switzerland’s 24,500km network track.
Every year SBB/CFF/FFS transports around 322 million passengers on its InterCity and commuter networks and 54 million net tonnes of freight.
The rail network of the Swiss Federal Railways is almost totally electrified. The company aim to maintain and build on this, and continue to work on the ecological efficiency and performance in the central areas, and particularly on noise abatement, energy efficiency and air pollution.
