Lourdes city guide
Lourdes, the Marian city
Lourdes is a small town located in southern France. It is a world renowned place and a pilgrimage site for Christians. In 19th century a small local girl claimed that a lady appeared to her in a Grotto and the later told her that she was the Immaculate Conception. The faithful ones believed she was the Virgin Mary. Since that time, Lourdes has become a place of spirituality surrounded by a beautiful landscape. Indeed, Lourdes can be the ideal starting point to visit the Pyrenees Mountains. The Lourdes railway station is less than 1km from the sanctuaries of Our Lady of Lourdes.

"Catching the connecting train". 13/11/2015
We almost failed to catch our connecting train from Bordeaux to Paris. Our first train arrived late and we experienced difficulty in finding our connecting train because there are no proper signs / instructions at the station. At the connecting train, we have to hop on the first car we saw, dragging our luggages, because there's no more time figuring out which car we are supposed to board. The train started moving just in time when we boarded.
"Train stops notification". 13/11/2015
It was a night train and there's a good change that you will miss your stop if you stay inside your cabin since there's no "silent" alert that would inform the passengers of the next stop. In our case, we just stood near the exit door more than 30min before the scheduled arrival at Lourdes station just to make sure we will not miss our stop.
"Convenient, Comfortable, Cool"Bobby j. 03/11/2015
We had no difficulty booking the tickets from India. We misplaced one printout but having access to the booking reference we had no difficulty getting a ticket issued at the station. (Only do remember that such tickets need to be endorsed at the stands near the platform). The seats were comfortable. The berths for the night journey were okay. There is food available on the day trains at reasonable prices. Overall definitely recommended.
Very good travel

All on time, all good
"Journey to lourdes"Ma Cely l. 15/06/2015
The trip itself was comfortable. The staff member ( lady) who helped us at the Montparnasse ticket station attended to our needs with utmost detail and patience when we needed to change a schedule on the return trip and booking for a car rental. The trip was delYed but they totally made up for the delay and made sure we were able to catch the connecting train to Lourdes on time. The only problem was there were no signages on the tracks to guide the passengers. A lot of confusion took place transferring from 1 coach to the other bearing the same coach and seat no. Conductors helped but some were confused too.
"First Time but the Last Time"Marissa m. 01/06/2015
It was my first time to go to Europe and my first time to travel by train across the regions. I am happy that i have researched on traveling by train via RailEurope, I was not disappointed. We arrived on time and our travel was comfortable. Will surely take RailEurope again then next time i go to Europe.
"Family Rail Travel"Rex r. 13/04/2015
Traveling with Rail Europe was fairly easy. Booking our itinerary was seemly. Although the instructions inside Montparnasse terminal was not as easy for 1st time travelers. we wish there were enough signs where exactly do passengers need to go. After all of that, there's no worries.
"ROUNDTRIP BY TGV PARIS LOURDES". 23/02/2015
I travelled with my family to Lourdes from Paris and back in first class. Very comfortable seats and comfortable travelling. Purchased tickets on line and we got them printed at home before boarding the train. No hassle. Suggest to provide WIFI.
"My first time experience"Richard l. 25/01/2015
I got so much excited during the trip. It was comfortable and relaxing. There were enough space for luggages so i was not a problem. Im sure to ride again when I go back. Thank you.
"great way to travel"Teresa c. 23/12/2014
the train is very clean and comfortable. return trip from Lourdes to Paris, the schedule I had was to transit in Bayonn. but the train was delay, i spoke to the counter clerk and seeking for help, she immediately changed my train to an slightly earlier schedule and wrote everything clearly on the ticket (she knew I couldn't speak French) everything went on smoothly, we reached Paris in a breeze.

Really delighted with the smooth and timely trip. Officers came around to check tickets and make their rounds gave a safe feeling.
"Customer satisfaction"Ayoki c. 17/11/2014
We enjoyed the journey to Lourdes from Paris and back other than the service offered at the ticketing counters. Even though there were many Agents at the counters non of them were willing to speek english and directed us to almost all the counters but got no support knowing very well that we were from a outside country. Also would be better if the stations could also be announced in english so that it would be conveniant to all.
"Service Provided "Greshan c. 14/11/2014
As tourists travelling to France from other countries with a limited knowledge of French, we do expect the services to be provided in English which would be really helpful. we had to under go a very harsh time in the Montparnasse station office to sort out an issue related to the ticket. There were like more than 8 counters in that office but all of them were reluctant to help us because we do not speak French. we were sent from one counter to another and we nearly missed the TGV. It is obvious that not all tourists could speak French and we would prefer if there are assistance provided English for tourists. Even in the TGV the announcements should be provided in English as well so that we could be aware of the stations and any other important information
