Lourdes city guide

Lourdes, the Marian city
Lourdes is a small town located in southern France. It is a world renowned place and a pilgrimage site for Christians. In 19th century a small local girl claimed that a lady appeared to her in a Grotto and the later told her that she was the Immaculate Conception. The faithful ones believed she was the Virgin Mary. Since that time, Lourdes has become a place of spirituality surrounded by a beautiful landscape. Indeed, Lourdes can be the ideal starting point to visit the Pyrenees Mountains. The Lourdes railway station is less than 1km from the sanctuaries of Our Lady of Lourdes.

"Paris to Lourdes trip"

  Gnanasekaran c.
We travelled from Paris to Lourdes by First Class. The heater was not working efficiently and so we were feeling cold. The train was delayed by 3 hours and 30 minutes. The announcements could also be in English in addition to French, since it is difficult for Foreigners like us to follow. The couchette was comfortable to lie. Thanks to the complimentary breakfast.
