While you're there
Rotterdam,a cultural dutch city along the water
Rotterdam is the world’s busiest port and a cosmopolitan gateway to the continent. It’s a forward-looking city, with ambitious angular architecture and an exciting art scene. Catch the flamboyant Zomercarnaval, summer highlight of a packed festival calendar, or just enjoy the vivacious nightlife scene.
Start your visit with one of the oldest monuments remaining in the port town, the City Hall. Its striking sculptures give us clues about the history of Rotterdam.
Still in the town centre, you will be amazed by the "cubical houses" or "tree-houses", built by Piet Blom. They are considered as a symbol of Rotterdam. If you don’t suffer from dizziness, take the elevator to the top of the Euromast, the highest observation tower in the Netherlands, and enjoy a magnificent view to Anvers in Belgium!
If you are an art lover, two museums must be discovered : The "kunsthal" and the "Boijmans Van Beuningen", both located in the Museumpark.
Trains are a convenient way of reaching many towns and cities throughout Europe. The majority of cities in Europe have a minimum of one train station, while larger, more populated cities have two or more stations. Train stations, in general, are located in the heart of the city. Review the map below to get an idea of where the train station(s) in Rotterdam can be found.

- "Bremen to Osnabrueck" Nath Parameswaran v. 14/11/2015
Travel was comfortable but few things could have made my travel more comfortable - 1. Position of coach could be informed much better since we had to ask a few people where the coach will be coming 2. For people travelling with bags, there is no place to keep the heavy bags. Lighter bags can be kept at the overhead places but not the heavy ones. Suggest to provide a place for heavy bags

As a business traveller weekends are the worst! I travelled by train on a Sunday so that I could enjoy the comfort and the view of the countryside. This form of travel is not only cheaper than flying but provides a better overall experience.
- "Convenient and efficient" Yu Cheung Billy h. 23/09/2015
We are satisfied with the rail system in the Netherlands in general.
- "My first ever train journey" Vanessa m. 28/07/2015
Friendily and helpful staff, seating was wonderful in 1st class, I was shocked to see I even got a meal which was a huge surprise. Looking out the window and watching the senery is amazing, free wi-fi was an added bonus and I really enjoyed everything. Can't wait to travel with thylas again Vanessa

- "Brussels-Rotterdam and back " Olga k. 20/09/2014
We enjoyed traveling with Thalys (from Brussels to Rotterdam and back)! Agents were always attentive, trains arriving/departing on time and with very comfortable seats even at 2nd calss. It was much more convenient for us to use Thalys and pay extra money then using other trains and make one to two changes, which means jumping off the train and taking bus to catch the connecting train at the other train station. Our trip was EXCELLENT! Big thank you to Thalys people from me and my friend!
- "Trip to Paris from Rotterdam" Aygun b. 09/09/2014
It was very comfortable, staff was very nice and helpful.
- "Brussels to Rotterdam" Gordon s. 27/06/2014
The trip was great. Paying fore the booking gave problems because Jamaica is not listed on the country drop down list when paying by credit card!
- "great staff" Terry m. 17/06/2014
the cabin attendant, a young man from Belgium, was very understanding and helpful the seat which had been generated was facing backwards and this would have made me feel very uncomfortable however the young man was able to find me a seat facing forward for which I was very greatful
- "Lyon to Mulhouse" . 20/05/2014
Great and comfortable
- "Cheaper can be better" Chihao h. 15/04/2014
It's convenient for me to buy the inter-country train ticket via internet and get discount as well. But in my experience taking the train, I'd rather to having a cheaper price than services because of weak and poor WiFi access.
- "changing stations" Dónal k. 21/12/2013
had to change stations in Paris. was only inconvenience.
