While you're there

Toulon, between sea and mountains…

Between sea and mountains, come to discover the pleasant city of Toulon, in southeastern France. Facing the Mediterranean sea, Toulon is the largest french military harbour, but it is also an attractive city where you will have a lot to do and see.

Despite the damages of the World War 2, Toulon remains a city with an important heritage. Enjoy the Puget square, a picturesque provencal place.

On summer, you can enter the 16th century Royal Tower. As Toulon needed to be defended, you may meet a lot of fortifications such as the St Louis Fort, the Italy’s gate or the Square Tower. Head the Sainte Marie de la Seds cathedral, an Historic monument dating back to the 11th century and blending different styles.

The St Louis and the St François de Paule churches are worth the visit as well. You will also find various museums and beaches in Toulon!

Customer reviews

  • "Awesome"
This was a comfortable, punctual and fun trip. A great way to see a bit of the French country side whilst heading to the next leg of a fantastic holiday.
  • "Journey with TGV in France"
I went with the TGV in France, from Charles de Gaulle airport to Toulon. It was a very comfortable and pleasant journey! The only poor thing was that much of the food omboard were out when we came on the train at Charles de Gaulle, on our way to Toulon. There were only one or two different kinds of sandwiches left in the bar. Otherwise it was a great trip! Nice to see so much of the beautiful landscape and countryside in France!
  • "Terrible on the phone "
I had one of the worst experiences with customer service and have since spread the word to friends, colleagues and family members to inform them how bad it has been and will continue to do so.
  • "Lille Europe to Toulon"
Great fast train. If you can, pack some lunch etc, (cheaper) . Remember that Lille Europe and Lille Flandres are 2 separate stations and this entails a reasonable but well sign posted walk ( allow 10-15 mins if you have luggage)
