Ventimiglia, typically italian

Ventimiglia is located in the northwestern part of Italy, a few kilometres away from the french border. Facing the Mediterranean sea, it is a small 26.000 inhabitants city offering sandy beaches and wonderful landscapes. Experience the Dolce Vita in Ventimiglia.

Ventimiglia can boast about having some remains of the roman period. Have a walk around the 2nd century theater, or around the rests of the roman villa and walls.

If you want to learn more about this glorious past, head "Balsi Rossi" where is the archaeological museum. Do not miss the Dell’ Asunta cathedral, dedicated to the Blessed Virgin. Built during the 11th and 12th century, it replaces a carolingian former church. Another church is worth the visit, the San Michele Arcangelo’s church.

Stroll along the beach to enjoy the sun and the market (on friday), where you can find local products and counterfeits. On June, enjoy the flower battle.

  • "An OK Trip"
From Parma to Milano is a relatively short trip but travelling with luggage can be a problem as there are no lifts to help you out getting from platform to platform. - make sure you have done your back exercises before travelling! Otherwise the train was ok - clean and on time.
