German cities including Berlin, Munich and Leipzig are all served by trains.
Stay east for history-packed, arty Berlin and visit up-and-coming Leipzig. Stroll around Hamburg’s harbour, admire Dresden’s opera house, and capture Weimar’s classical cityscape. Head west for Cologne’s Gothic cathedral and Frank Gehry-graced Düsseldorf. Travel by train to Germany’s south to medieval Heidelberg and eclectic Munich.
Cruise the UNESCO-listed vine-clad Middle Rhine Valley or hike the Black Forest in the southwest. Explore the hilly, unspoilt countryside of the Hunsrück or travel south by train to Germany’s Upper Bavaria where fairytale castles, chocolate-box villages and the mountainous beauty of the Alps await.
Buy traditional cuckoo clocks from the Black Forest, home-bottled Mosel valley wine, Lübeck marzipan and full-flavoured beer from Franconian breweries. Indulge in designer labels from Munich’s boutiques and Düsseldorf’s Kö promenade.
Eat & Drink
Sample sauerkraut (pickled cabbage) and Berlin’s beloved currywurst (curry sausage). Regional specialities include semmelknödel (dumplings) and maultaschen (stuffed pasta pasties) in the south to sea-fresh shrimp and herring-type rollmops in the north. Prized German beers include golden Pilsener and dark Altbier.
See Germany by train by travelling with ICE and Deutsch Bahn, with a scenic ride from Cologne to historic Koblenz where the Ehrenbreitstein fortress offers spectacular views over the castes and vineyards of the Rhine Valley.

"Wonderful Joureny On RailEurop"Santosh Anantrao m.
I traveled from Venice the city of love to Rome, the historic city on rail Europe. We traveled in 1st class where we were served welcome drinks. The seats were comfortable and the train was neat and clean. It was great experience, the trained reached on time to Rome!!
"In time"Santosh Anantrao m. 23/06/2015
Train was in time and spotless.
"Pleasant trip"Wai Meng c. 23/06/2015

"better than average"Thomas l. 23/06/2015
I had a comfortable trip using raileurope and traveling via TGV. I didn't understand the difference between 1st and 2nd class. I travelled in an older 1st class car and saw that there were newer cars available. The washrooms were decent. Similar to plane washrooms but one of the washrooms in the food car had a really terrible smell and since it was a very busy door, the smell travelled to our car. The stops are announced only in French on the TGV for our trip from Paris to Arles but a quick look outside and you see the stops. The train ride is very comfortable and smooth, ticketing process is simple and stress free. I had my ticket on my iPhone. Power plugs were a big bonus since we had brought a laptop for movies. The price is quite high considering a trip from Toronto to Montreal using via rail is less than 200CAD and a trip from Toronto to New York is around 250CAD by train. I would consider the train over flying only because it is quick and convenient eg: no security checks or lines. But be at least 15 minutes early. The train comes and goes right on the minute. It is very on-time.
"Paris - Nevers Sat. AM"Paul n. 23/06/2015
First class definitely worth the cost for the extra room. Seat was comfortable and had power for computer. Only disappointment was that the train had to stop for "security," so was 20 minutes late for the arrival.
"My trip from Firenze to Pisa "Sajir t. 23/06/2015
Your trains were indeed superb. We had a stress free and an enjoyable ride.
"Paris Nord - Amsterdam C S "Sajir t. 23/06/2015
Being travellers on holiday from India , Adequate information is not available in English . The train departure stations are given only 10-15 min in advance and this becomes very inconvenient as we were travelling with baggage. Tickets are expected to be printed in paper , and this is not convenient as most travellers book tickets on line and are not accessible to computer printing stations. Either e- tickets on phone or ipads should be acceptable or printing stations should be available at the information counters on the stations. The same is acceptable when travelling by air or when booking hotels. Comfort - very good . Value for money - Very good . Convenience - poor to average but definitely needs improvement.

Very comfortable and super fast trains. Easily accessible too.
"good experience"Yara k. 22/06/2015
I enjoyed the trip but only wish that the tunnel was made of glass so it looks like an aquarium as opposed to a dark and claustrophobic tunnel for 25 minutes
"Smooth and comfortable "Soo Tow l. 22/06/2015
The train ride was smooth and comfortable. The meal provided was tasty and the departure and arrival were timely. Overall it is a good experience.
