Thalys offers direct and high-speed services between Brussels, Paris, Amsterdam and Cologne. If you do not want to spend more than two hours in a train, you should go for a Paris- Brussels Thalys train that connects the two cities in just 1h22 minutes. Not even the time to finish your favourite crosswords!!!
Frequent Thalys services- up to 24 daily returns between the Belgian and the French capitals are scheduled daily – which means that you do not even have to think about your trip too much in advance. Sounds perfect for the least organized travellers.
For the most adventurous, Brussels is just 1h53 minutes from Amsterdam-Centraal, so that you could even extend your Thalys journey to discover the beauty and freedom of the City of the painter Van Gogh. So easy to add more destinations with a Thalys train thanks to its very comprehensive network….
From Paris, you could also reach Amsterdam in 3 hours and 18 minutes, with the flexibility and the choice of 11 Thalys trains a day.
And if you start your journey from Brussels, you could also get to Cologne in Germany in just 1H 57 minutes thanks to the amazing speed of Thalys. Five trains a day connect the two cities, again for your convenience.

Feeling the need for a longer but reasonable journey trip? Thalys trains could also get you in less than four hours from Paris Gare du Nord to Cologne in Germany, five times a day. Journey time is just 3 hours and 14 minutes, from city centre to city centre, much better than any airplane trip between the same destinations.
It means that you will not waste your time and get yourself ready to undertake your ambitious program of visits, when stepping out of the station.
Since summer 2011, Brussels is also connected to the German city of Duisberg in just 2 h and 34 minutes with only one train a day. With the same frequency, Essen is also within a 2h51 minutes distance from Brussels and Dusseldorf at 2H20 minutes from the Belgian capital.
On a seasonal basis, you could also enjoy some extra destinations offered by the Thalys network. During winter – usually from the end of December till mid-April- you can travel from Brussels Midi or Antwerp Central to the ski resorts in Chambéry, Albertville, Moutiers, Aime-la-Plagne, and Bourg-St-Maurice, every Saturday without any stops. Journey time to get to Bourg Saint-Maurice from Brussels is 6H 35 minutes.
Pretty sure you will forget this journey time as soon as you discover the nice snowy slopes. Just keep in mind that just one train connects the two cities every day in winter.
