The Berlin-Warsaw Express In brief

The Berlin-Warsaw Express is operated by Deutsche Bahn (DB), the German national railway network. It unites the revitalized city of Berlin, Germany with the city of Warsaw, in Poland.

There are 3 daily departures and returns, and the journey takes 6 hours. Tickets can be booked up to 60 days in advance and reservation is mandatory (and included in the cost of the ticket).

Largely rebuilt since the end of the Second World War, Warsaw boasts a historic old town that is on UNESCO’s World Heritage List.

Depart from either Frankfurt or Berlin, pass through Poznan and arrive in Warsaw. Departures from Warsaw stop at Poznan, before calling at either Frankfurt or Berlin.

The Stations: • Berlin’s Hauptbahnhof (central train station) opened in 2006 and is considered the largest in Europe – so make sure you have time to find your platform. It offers a range of food options and a currency exchange service.

  • A. Many trains such as the Eurostar offer discounted tickets for advance purchase. These fares have limited availability and sell out quickly. To receive the best price on the train you want to travel on you should purchase your tickets prior to your departure so you can avoid fully booked trains.
