Travel inspiration in Munich and Venice
Munich is one of the most popular destination in Europe and Germany. The city is the capital of the Bavaria state. Munich is world known for its beer and the famous Oktoberfest. Home to the BMW Welt and the FC Bayern, Munich is a city with something for everyone! More than that, Munich is an important centre for art, culture and international affairs. The city is clean, safe and has an efficient transport system. Being an open and joyful city, Munich is a leisure paradise with a splendid view over the alps. Munich is easily reached by train from Paris, Berlin and Zurich.
Venice is a unique experience for every traveller and certainly a must for lovers. Few people know that Venice is actually an island-city with a train bridge connecting it to mainland Italy. This romantic city actually has no roads at all! To move around there are 150 canals and over 400 bridges! Venice has also beautiful churches, squares and museums. The southern part of the Venice has a certain village feel. Perfect to wander around in the little alleys, get lost and finally reach the Santa Margherita square. Ideal place for its lively bars!
Reviews & ratings Munich - Venice
It was a beautiful trip - traveling in first class in a compartment with one other couple from Germany - we had a very nice conversation along the way and the scenery was absolutely stunning - it was clear and sunny the entire trip - except when it got later and then it was clear and you could see the stars. Just beautiful. Only complaint was that the food car was not adequately staffed, did not have enough food, and the service was so slow that we eventually left - after the staff told us they could not take any more orders. It was a good thing we did bring a little lunch - however, we could not even get a cup of coffee they were so overwhelmed. Maybe compartment service for the people traveling in first class - or additional staff....not sure.
Train is fine and service is well.
It was better than expected
Comfortable train trip from Munich to Vence
i saved 1 night of hotel/hostel by taking a night train from Venice to Munich. The train departed and arrived on time. Ride was smooth and comfortable though the space was tiny but for Asian built like me it is absolutely alright. The view was incredible when we were crossing Austria-Germany border. All those rolling hills with patches of red roof houses and endless spring flowers. Get up at around 5 am and stay in corridors to catch the view and sunrise. Would definitely try CNL again and recommend to my fellow travelers.
There was a charger to charge any electronics along the way, which is value adding.
Our trip was excellent, the best was your on time departure.
Our train trip from Munich to Venice was excellent. The train was comfortable and while we shared our cabin with four others they were friendly and there was plenty of room. The scenery was amazing and the views from the train were unrestricted. The service on the train was excellent. We had a meal in the dining car which was both high quality and reasonably priced. The train left on time and arrived in Venice on time and we were kept informed about the journey all the way.
Amazing route (especially when the train goes through austria) Comfortable train ride. On time arrival.
Train was timely, comfortable and had great views of Austrian hillsides and some of the Alps
This was our first trip by train. We really enjoyed it. It was a wonderful way to travel!
I travelled along with my parents and my husband. The trip was very comfortable and convenient. Apart from that, rail europe was very prompt to guide me before this trip. I got my tickets delivered within 2 working days from the day I booked it on their website. Overall, I would rate the trip, train and rail europe as 'excellent' in their services.
Train was crowded rather than I thought, and I saw some people on the train without ticket. I could enjoy the long travel though.
The staff was amazing and accomidating. The heat was broken but we were given many coffees to make up for it!
Overall it was a good trip. Only lack of information I experienced.
