Travel inspiration in Paris and Bern
Paris, the capital of France
One of the world’s greatest cities, Paris! The capital of France is also known as the City of Light. This enchanting city, at the crossroads of cultures, is the capital of fashion and home to world highlights such as the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre and Avenue des Champs Elysées, to name but a few. In terms of architectural beauty, art history, events, gastronomy and sheer extravagance, Paris is a milestone ahead of any other city on earth. Paris has one of the world’s most extensive public transport systems. You can take a taxi if you are not much of an adventurer, but that would be a pity! Metro (subway or underground), buses and city bicycles are much more fun and are very easy to use, even for beginners.
Bern, the capital of Switzerland
Bern is the capital city of the Swiss Confederation and the fourth most populous city in Switzerland. Bern is surrounded on three sides by the river Aare, and is located just west of the centre of Switzerland and north of the Bernese Alps. The magnificent countryside around Bern was formed by glaciers during the Ice Age. The historic old town of Bern, is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Reviews & ratings Paris - Bern
I and My Friends were happy..The Train was confort..But there may be separete compartment for non -seat number..because how many times have we changed the place
the train was quite comfortable, lovely seating are for families. It was also quite expensive, but the views were definitely worth seeing!
The travrl for very good. the train was not full and so it was possible to keep the luggage comfortable. Had it been full there would be problem. Need to see.
Actually this time our trip has big problem. Because Suddenly train plafform changed in Bern. So my family got on the another train. also We paid but had no seat during over 3hours.
We as a family enjoy our trip a lot! The only problem we experienced was that there was not enough space for all the people's lugguage. No complaints further.
We had a wonderful time, exploring Switzerland by going from place to place by train. The trains were punctual, clean, comfortable and we would do it again. We took the train from London to Paris and then from Paris to Berne. We then travelled to Lucerne, St Moritz, Zermat and then to Geneva to fly back to London.
Puts UK train travel in a bad light! This was quiet, comfortable and very well organised. Slight delay due to signal problem was unavoidable.
I travelled in TGV lyria for the second time in 3 years. The first time was in 2010 with my wife and children and we travelled from Rome to Florence and later from Florence to Venice. Though trains are still as punctual, the upholstry is now a little worn and the train looked more untidy. The W/C close to our seats was full and overflowing and on the way back dirty. The staff however was extremely helpful and courtious. All in all the experience wasnt quite upto the standards I had come to expect from my last trip.
