Travel inspiration in Vienna and Venice
Vienna is the capital city of Austria and home to approximately 1,6 million inhabitants. Vienna is the seat of many multinationals and is becoming more and more important as a centre for trade between Western and Eastern Europe. Vienna is also a city of green parks, calm, dreamy alleys, art and music. This city is rightly deemed a city worth living in, being a cosmopolitan city of culture and gastronomy.
Venice is a unique experience for every traveller and certainly a must for lovers. Few people know that Venice is actually an island-city with a train bridge connecting it to mainland Italy. This romantic city actually has no roads at all! To move around there are 150 canals and over 400 bridges! Venice has also beautiful churches, squares and museums. The southern part of the Venice has a certain village feel. Perfect to wander around in the little alleys, get lost and finally reach the Santa Margherita square. Ideal place for its lively bars!
Reviews & ratings Vienna - Venice
Comfortable seats, clean toilet and a great way to travel in Europe. Scenic view along the way, which made travelling enjoyable. Information is displayed at strategic spots so you can track your journey. Announcement is made at each station so you wont miss your destination.
We travelled on EN236 from Venice to Vienna. The accommodation was comfortable for sitting posture. But one can hardly sleep by sliding the chair if the compartment has all the six occupants present. In the peak tourist season I would advise a sleeper accommodation. The train operated on time.
The service was great and travelling overnight was very efficient and the travel time passed very quickly.
We were pleasantly surprised with our private room for two, it came with welcome packs including drinks and breakfast. The place was small as expected and the common toilet was a little hard to use and unclean. Unfortunately no showering facilities which was hard as we had travelled the whole day in Venice that day and was looking forward to a nice shower. The trip was pleasant and breakfast was on time and lovely.
we were to happy with this trip i was with my wife and my 8 years son and we were feel as we are in our home with the T3 sleepers and a nice view from the window and a good breakfast next morning every things was fantastic.
Everything was good
The train departed and arrived on time, and got us from Venice to Vienna as we wanted. Carriage was not very spacious and far from what i would expect from a first class carriage. Sleeper yes, luxury by no means.
Overall experience is good. With simple breakfast that prepare travellers to continue their trip.
Im very glad u are applying this review .i think the price was unreasonable , a lot stop, very low speed
We booked first class tickets for our females, and surprised to know the area which was given inside coach 403, it was pathetic to even keep ourselves inside the cabin with luggage. AC was not at all functioning or no effect. Staff is wonderful, they are really helpful and their hospitality was really appreciated, they were even helpful to load or off load the luggage 10 out of 10 to the staff.
The comfort and class on our night train from Venice to Vienna was above our expectations. We were delighted to receive our welcome bag (loved the wine) upon our arrival. After settling in we sat back and toasted our farewell to Italy and to a bon voyage for the rest of our journey. The attention of the staff made us feel like royalty and the comfort of the coucher was outstanding. A great trip! Can't wait to take another vacation!
We thought we'd purchased couchette places on this train, but it was only after we boarded that we discovered they were ordinary seats in a compartment. We could have used a LOT more information from Rail Europe to cue us that the seats were not what we thought we'd purchased. A sympathetic conductor gave us his compartment so that we were not so cramped. Also, the train was very very hot. An unpleasant experience — we'd be willing to try this train again if we could be sure we were in a couchette or sleeper, but at this point I wouldn't risk it. I suspect the problem was with the website, that somehow failed to register our correct choices.
This train/bus trip goes through some wonderful scenery, esp. just past Wiener Neustadt as it climbs into the foothills.
We were six in our compartment. We expected a couchette but obviously made a mistake in our booking and spent the night sitting. The trip was fine, and the service adequate.
